Jessica & Mike’s engagement session started off at their home – and ended in a date night on the town. In the exact spot in the couch that they snuggle together in at night. With their sweet dog Fannie doting over Mike. Barefoot in their kitchen laughing. I really push choosing locations for your engagement session that means something to you so that when you look back on these photos in 20 years, you don’t just see your beautiful faces, but also are immediately reminded of the memories you’ve had in that place. What better spot than the first home you’ve shared together?
I (really) love it when couples choose locations for their engagement session that really mean something to them. We went to two locations that mean a lot to Kelly & Rob. Oakley Pub & Grill, which is where they met through mutual friends, and Findlay Market, specifically Market Wines – a favorite spot of theirs that they were at the same night that Rob proposed. I love that when they look back at these engagement photos in 20 years, they will remember how special these locations were to them & spark the memories they’ve made together in these spots.
These two – SO CUTE! I had such a great evening photographing Sarah & Richard’s engagement session at Ault Park. The connection between this beautiful couple is so evident & in turn, they're so really fun to photograph. We spent most of their engagement session laughing, and the rest of the time admiring how precious their puppy is. I love when couples choose to incorporate ALL parts of their life into their session (and wedding day). Sometimes that means bringing along your 4-legged baby & I'm always a fan.
Leah & Alex’s engagement session was such a joy to photograph. They invited me into their (super adorable) OtR home to capture them in their space, and then we spent some time at other locations they love. Over the Rhine is always a wonderful spot for engagement photography in Cincinnati – but it’s especially great when the couple lives among those streets. Makes for such great memories for them later! Their relaxed personalities & laughter made this shoot such an easy one – I just loved them!
High school sweethearts who were separated by miles during collage. Until one day when Ian proposed. While the couple were at Kirsten’s parents house over the holidays when they were house-sitting for the weekend. They were in her parents cozy 3-seasons room drinking wine, with all of the holiday lights still up, with the fireplace going, lights dimmed, and listening to romantic laid back music. They dove into a deep conversation about their future together and then Ian popped the question! In Kirsten's words "It was absolutely perfect."
This engagement session was a fun follow-up to the REAL engagement session which I also photographed for this duo. John contacted me to shoot the proposal earlier in the year! It was so excited to be there to see Jenna's reaction - and wonderful to catch up with them again during this session to hear how their wedding plans have come along since last seeing them during that amazing evening. Jenna & John are amazing people who I am truly thrilled to get to know during this season in their life. I am positive that their wedding day will be one for the books!
Erin & Josh headed out for their annual holiday dinner together in Over the Rhine where they had lived until recently. They began their evening at Skeleton Root winery, followed by dinner at Sarte. After dinner they decided to walk to Washington Park to check out the Christmas lights, followed by drinks. They were standing in front of the gazebo in the park when the proposal happened. It was a blur of a wonderful moment that neither can remember - but one thing is certain: They left the park an engaged couple.
Olivia & Mitchell fell in love in high school. As they say, the rest is history. After being together for many years - this engagement session has been a long time coming. I adored their sweet spirits and beautiful connection during our time together for this shoot. They have such a rich history together already, and it's clear from their support for one another that this wedding day is putting the cherry on top of what is already a commitment years in the making!
