As we turn the page into a new year, I want to take a moment to say thank you. I’ve said it at least a thousand times, but I truly am humbled each time a couple trusts me with their wedding day. I’m headed into my 13th year photographing weddings & I’m still in love with my career. Why? Why after over 400 weddings would I be so incredibly passionate about what I do?
It’s YOU. Each one of you who I fall in love with. It’s a strange thing to stand as an outsider with an insider perspective on a wedding day. I’m not part of your wedding party – but somehow I am. I’m not part of your wedding – yet I feel those connections. I’ve found over the many years of photographing weddings that that vulnerability to allow myself to FEEL is what makes this work so well for me. I walk into a room of strangers every Saturday morning. And somehow that night walk away understanding.
…why she’s your best friend.
…which aunt is “that” aunt (…and how to pacify her)
…why you & your dad have such a special relationship.
…the ridiculous inside jokes you & your college girlfriends share.
…the deep bond you have with your brothers.
…the pain you walked through with your family by your side.
…the successes you’ve had that you didn’t think were possible.
…that your best man considers you a brother.
…that your inner beauty is even more incredible than your outer.
…the connection you have with your now spouse.
…that your love is one that will last.
So, thank you. Thank you for letting me into your world. For giving me a front row seat on such an incredible day. For allowing me the honor of capturing moments that will be talked about for years to come. For not just being clients, but becoming friends.
